Vetted Picks

Real products we'd actually buy for our own dogs and cats, chosen for Indian pet parents and checked against real veterinary standards, not marketing copy. We'll tell you what we don't like too, and exactly when to skip a pick entirely.

How we picked these

Browse by category

Why you can trust these picks

Every pick here is checked against real veterinary standards (WSAVA, AAFCO, VOHC) before it's added. We don't pick something because a brand paid for placement. Read our full methodology. Prices were verified 2026-08-29 and can change, so please confirm the current price on the retailer's page before buying. Some links earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you, and it never changes what we say about a product.

9 Foods & Treats We'd Actually Buy

Matched to WSAVA's manufacturer-trust standard, not just an ingredient panel.

9 Health & Wellness Picks We'd Actually Buy

Flea and tick prevention plus dental care, and every pick names its actual evidence, not just its brand.

7 Grooming & Monsoon Picks We'd Actually Buy

Tick and fungal-infection risk is genuinely higher while monsoon is still around, so this is the right time to sort this out.

Toys, travel gear, and bird-specific picks are coming as we research and add real inventory. We'd rather ship three well-researched categories than nine mostly-empty ones.

Common questions

Is Bravecto or Simparica better for my dog?

Both use the same modern isoxazoline class of active ingredient, and both are safe for most dogs. The real difference is how often you dose: Bravecto lasts 12 weeks per tablet, Simparica is monthly. If you know you'll forget a monthly dose, go with Bravecto. If your vet prefers checking in more often, Simparica works well too.

Is grain-free dog food actually better?

Not automatically. It's only a meaningful upgrade if your dog has a vet-confirmed grain sensitivity. For most healthy dogs, it's just a different formulation at a higher price, not an actual health benefit.

Can I use dog flea and tick medicine on my cat?

No. Several common active ingredients in dog flea/tick products (permethrin especially) are fatal to cats even in small, indirect exposure. Always use a product specifically labeled for cats.

Do dental chews actually work for dogs' teeth?

Only the ones tested and approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC) have independently verified plaque and tartar reduction. Look for the actual VOHC Seal of Acceptance, not just a brand's own "dental health" claim on the pack.

Do joint supplements actually help dogs?

For prevention and mild stiffness, glucosamine-based supplements have decent supporting evidence and are worth trying, especially in senior or large-breed dogs. They take weeks of regular use to show any effect, and they won't reverse existing joint damage. If your dog is already limping or in pain, see a vet before reaching for a supplement.

Why do dogs get ear infections during monsoon?

Humidity and trapped moisture create the exact warm, damp environment yeast and bacteria need to grow in a dog's ear canal, and it's worse in breeds with floppy or hairy ears. Regular cleaning with a proper ear cleanser during monsoon genuinely helps prevent this, but an ear that already smells bad, looks red, or is causing head-shaking needs a vet, not a cleaner.
